I have been slowly self learning the ins and outs or photography. I now realize that I didn't take this up to learn a new skill, but because I have started noticing moments that remind me that life is still magical. One can become so jaded by everyday life that it's easy to miss out on all the amazing things going on around us. I have tried photographing people, but everyone seems to be trying to find a pose that others will comment on or making themselves look good. As I continue my journey into being a better photographer, I find myself reaching our to my peers only to find they are far and few. My family supports and encourages my new hobby, but does not wish to participate. My friends all have other hobbies and interests that do not coincide with my desires and my co-workers find it quaint but unnecessary. In these times, I find it easier to draw inspiration from fellow casual and profession photographers on this site (and a few others) than to ask opinions and critiques from those who, honestly, could not care less. My process had become more critical and I see things slightly different from before.
